Internal R&D

Innovation, a key strategic focus

Since its creation, ELSYS Design has made R&D a major strategic focus. The company was awarded the “Innovative Company” label by ANVAR (now Bpifrance) in 2002; it is also part of the Bpifrance Excellence network, made up of companies "that are thirsty for freedom, which innovate and which have a desire to undertake without limits."

Technology Innovation

Permenently, we carry out internal projects aimed at reinforcing our know-how. They often take the form of PoC (proof of concepts) using the latest technologies.

For example, we have developed a PoC around the concept of screen mirroring in the automotive field. In a nutshell, the project consisted of replicating the screen of an Android smartphone on the touch screen of the vehicle to be able to control it.

Another example, in Grenoble, we have designed a high-end connected plug combining thermostat, light control, switch-on / switch-off functions by clapping hands and enabling to have a follow up of a room temperature and brightness over several months (the data being presented on an Android mobile application also developed internally).

We are leveraging our experience in innovation to support several high-potential start-ups with whom we have partnered.

UPmem designs a chip enabling to accelerate the big data applications by a factor of 20:

"Our project is to revolutionize computing in application servers by tracking the wall of memory”, said CEO Gilles Hamon to l’Usine Nouvelle. “In computation-intensive applications such as big data, the obstacle to the acceleration of processing lies not in the processor or the memory, but in the data bus. The transport of data between the memory and the processor consumes up to 90% of the energy of the servers. We develop a disruptive solution that locates the processing in the memory where the data is located."

At the beginning of this video (until 3'15), you will see the UPMEM CEO introducing the company and its technology.

"Wildmoka is a company founded in late 2013, specializing in the automation, enrichment and monetization of audiovisual content.

This "digital hub", materialized in the form of a web platform marketed in SaaS mode, allows holders, buyers and / or producers of content who want to ensure their presence on the web, to create videos and instantaneously broadcast them on social networks (Twitter, Facebook, YouTube) or on their own application. In an agile and fast way.

Our customer portfolio consists of television channels (France TV, The Altice group), media groups (Canal +, BeIN Sports) and rights holders (International Tennis Foundation) positioned in the areas of sports, information and entertainment, three areas where live is a real added value.

The company has thirty people, it is present in the United States (subsidiary) as well as in Argentina and Australia (commercial offices)." (Extract from an interview for the Nice Côte d'Azur CCI website).

Here is for example a small video presenting the TVClipping solution of Orange, based on the Wildmoka technology:

Lucie Labs is a EU-based start-up that focuses on developing technologies/products within the IoT (Internet of Things) area. Its mission is to reinvent how we experience and interact with lighting.

LucieLabs has been selected in the Allianz and Orange Fab accelerators.

One of the latest products based on Lucie Labs technology is a connected shoe.
